The Andaman and Nicobar Islands boast a unique biodiversity due to their geographical location and tropical climate. They are home to extensive mangrove forests along the coastlines, dense evergreen tropical rainforests in the interior areas, and pockets of moist deciduous forests. Other regions, while possessing some of these forest types, do not typically have all three in significant combination.
