While the state does not primarily have black cotton soil (which is characteristic of regions like Maharashtra and Gujarat), it has adapted to other soil types suitable for cotton cultivation. More importantly, the state has a well-established textile industry, which has fostered a significant pool of skilled labour required for spinning and yarn production, making it a key contributor to this sector.
