Jordan is a landlocked country in Western Asia. It shares borders with Syria to the north, Iraq to the northeast, Saudi Arabia to the east and south, Israel and Palestine to the west. Its only outlet to the sea is through the Gulf of Aqaba, which connects to the Red Sea, not the Mediterranean.
