The Simon Commission was appointed by the British government to report on the working of the Government of India Act 1919 and to suggest further reforms. Its composition, consisting entirely of British members and excluding any Indian representation, was deeply resented by Indians. This exclusion led to widespread protests and the slogan 'Simon Go Back', as Indians felt that a commission tasked with deciding India's future should include Indians.
