While it shares roots with the Bhakti movement that influenced figures like Tulsidas, Kabir, and Mirabai, Sattriya's repertoire is specifically tied to the compositions of Srimanta Sankardev and Madhavdev, the founders of Assam's Ekasarana Dharma, rather than directly incorporating their works.
