The Directive Principles of State Policy (DPSP) aim to establish India as a welfare state by directing the state to secure a social and economic order conducive to the welfare of the people. They are fundamental in the governance of the country and it shall be the duty of the State to apply these principles in making laws, focusing on social justice and economic upliftment.
