▶ Answer & Explanation

Correct answer: B. Only two

Article 355 of the Constitution mandates the Union to protect every state against internal disturbance and from external aggression. Regarding preventive detention, Article 22(1) of the Constitution grants the right to consult a legal practitioner of one's choice, which applies to all persons arrested or detained. The Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA), 2002, in Section 32, allowed confessions made before police officers to be admissible as evidence, with certain safeguards, unlike the CrPC which generally bars such confessions.
