Article 143 of the Constitution provides for the President's power to consult the Supreme Court. However, there is no provision for postponing the Presidential election due to the dissolution of Legislative Assemblies. Furthermore, while the President must consider a Bill presented, the Constitution does not prescribe specific time limits for granting assent, allowing for a pocket veto. The Supreme Court has also ruled that acts done by a President whose election is later declared void remain valid.
