A qubit, or quantum bit, is the basic unit of quantum information. Unlike a classical bit which can be either 0 or 1, a qubit can exist in a superposition of both 0 and 1 simultaneously. This property, along with entanglement, forms the foundation of quantum computing, enabling it to perform certain computations exponentially faster than classical computers.
